When i'm using the FSH editor, the entire area surrounding the screen of where I'm drawing turns grey. Sometimes I can't move the shape position either. To temp. fix it, I've had to close the fsh editor and re open it so I can move the item around. What's causing this?

Oh oh oh!! I know this one, it suck SOOOOO badly, and I found a way to fix it. I know that if you just try to reinstall furcadia its not gonna work, what I had to do was first copy all of my files that I wanted to keep, dreams, DS, the works, into a different folder. Then go back into the dream folder, and highlight and delete EVERYTHING, then if you reinstall furcadia, it should work. At least thats what I did, and its been weeks since Ive had any problems. And the way I just said to fix it was the only way I found that work. x.x Good luck. PM? if you need anything, or Just whisper ingame, you know who I am

I actually did'nt do a thing to it yet and I have'nt had the problem happen. I'll hang in there to see if it happens again, because I"d rather not re install things.

I'm not quite sure what error you're speaking of, or what its cause is, but I have seen similar things happening.
This problem seems to happen occasionally to me as well, usually after I resize the FSHed window and zoom in or out or something. It fixes by resizing the FSHed window a little. I found that when this happens the object preview window seems to no longer work.
The long term solution is to not use FSHed to edit the actual patches: That's what Photoshop, PSP, and the Gimp are for.
If the program is giving illegal operation crashes, though, run a virus scan.

Not use the FSH editor? The editor that's meant to be used in working with art for Furcadia given to us by DEP? Heck no. I do most of my work on the fsh editor and rarely use The Gimp and Microsoft paint to resize things.

Just because the software was given to everyone to use doesn't mean it's the best or most logical option available.
I make things I photoshop that you just couldn't make in that little program because it just doesn't have the tools, flexibility, or options.
Layered photoshop files are also a more effective way of proving something you've made is yours rather than just a completed flat image.
Work smarter, not harder.
